A little something different: I DJ’ed a couple high school dances a few years ago (Renton and Franklin) and both experiences were very eye opening (figuratively and literally, thank god for chaperones). 1995. The year I graduated high school. At afternoon assemblies, I remember we’d rep the year we’d graduate and chant “9-5, 9-5!” …but when the actual year came, I got hit with a dose of reality. College was coming, I felt like I wasn’t ready, I was too much into things that weren’t related to academics. On the music tip, I felt like dope shit dropped every single month. I carried around a walkman with large headphones and a cassette case that fit at least 10 tapes. I wore Nike sweatshirts, baggy jeans and Polo visors. The majority of what I listened to was very east coast, too. Anyway, just thought i’d reminisce for a bit.
I’ll be in San Diego all this week for the Comic Con so hopefully i’ll try to fit in some photos of fitteds and exclusives that might pop up. Until then, see you next week.
