As a person of color, how can you not inadvertently laugh at Booker T calling, of all people, Hulk Hogan, the…well, just watch it…….Booker T gets composure points, though.

There has probably been way more racist things said on live TV since this, but I’m betting it’s been a little bit more discreet.

Some Seattle Weekly Press… February 18, 2009

Check out the Seattle Weekly for some sweet promo for the March 10 show!

K’Naan, Gabriel Teodros, DJ Daps1 and Yze at Neumos March 10

K'naan.jpg

Here’s one of the biggest hip-hop shows that I’m looking forward to in the near future. Somalian MC, K’naan, who grew up in Mogadishu and moved to Toronto as a teenager, has always been on my radar of rap artists to watch from Canada with a more powerful message than those here in the U.S. I didn’t buy his first disc, The Dusty Foot Philosopher, however (I slept on it I know), but loved all of the singles that I heard. The dude raps for ghetto children worldwide, and has the right to do so having grown up on, what he calls, “the meanest streets in the world.” That’sMogadishu folks, not the T-Dot.

Anyway, K’naan is dropping a new album, February 24, called Troubadour, and he’ll be in Seattle on March 10th to promote it. The buzz around this album is much bigger (which warms my heart) and I’m hoping Seattle’s sizable East African community comes out to support him, and the ridiculous line-up on the bill. After the jump, check out what I’m calling right now, as the most powerful music video of 2009.
